Bodies of water are typically considered outside of private ownership; as public spaces, they serve as rare surviving examples of a commons. In winter, these northern Maine lakes become populated by small makeshift shacks, temporary structures for gathering and fishing. The work looks to translate the public formed in these winter huts, allowing us to be at once outside and inside, isolated and together.
